Making Roth Solo 401k Contributions to the Fidelity Investments Non-Prototype (Investment Only) Brokerage Account

Once you’ve opened the Fidelity Investments non-prototype (aka investment only) brokerage account for your self-directed solo 401k plan, and you are ready  make the annual Roth solo 401k contribution, please use the following procedure for making the contribution:

If by Check:

Make the contribution check payable to in the name of the solo 401k plan F.B.O. your name. For example, if the name of your solo 401k plan is World Leader Trust and your name is Susan Smith, you would make the check payable as follows: World Leader Trust F.B.O. Susa Smith

In the memo section write, “Roth Solo 401k Contribution”.

Also write the Roth solo 401k brokerage account number in the memo section.

On the back of the check sign your name.

After you sign, write Trustee of and list the name of the solo 401k plan.

Then write For Deposit Only.

Then write the Roth solo 401k brokerage account number.

Then mail this check to Fidelity Investments using either standard mail or overnight mail.

Automate Contributions Solo 401k QUESTION

I really like my contributions to be automated. Is it possible for me to automate my contributions to the solo 401k plan? Does the fidelity brokerage account allow for automatic contributions to be drafted from my bank account or will I need to actually write a paper check each payroll and mail it into fidelity to contribute to the 401k? Will I need to fill out a form each time i am contributing to my 401k?
